he Presidio Trust, the City of San Francisco and the Department of Veterans Affair invite you to be part of the official City and County of San Francisco Memorial Day Observance. This year marks the 150th anniversary of the Presidio’s participation in the city’s annual ceremony, dating back to the establishment of this national day of remembrance in 1868. The ceremony will honor the one million Americans killed while serving in the U.S. armed forces and will connect the public to the commitment and sacrifices made by military personnel, veterans, and their families.
9:30 am - Commemoration begins with a special flag raising ceremony at Pershing Square.
Parade with Veterans and the South San Francisco High School Marching Band
10:30 am – Beginning at Presidio Officers’ Club (50 Moraga Avenue)
Formal Ceremony with Military Dignitaries, Veteran Speakers, and Live Music
11 am to Noon – San Francisco National Cemetery at the Presidio
21-Gun Salute by the U.S. Army’s Pacific Division 75th Training Command
Noon – Pershing Square, Main Post
Community Picnic Gathering
Food for purchase, opportunities for community service, and activities for children
12 to 2 pm – Main Parade Ground
